I wish Capaldi was staying. I liked Matt Smith but felt about ready for him to leave, and Tennant's farewell parade of death put me right off Ten for years, but there still feels like so much more that could be done with Twelve, especially when not hampered by Moffat's writing.

I sort of agree with that I think... Smith had what seemed like a full proper "story arc" that came to a conclusion where his journey was done... Tennant actually sort of "lingered on" a bit... But the Capaldoctor (and Missy) arc does feel a bit like it's been cut short? Not sure about another full season but at least a half season to wrap it up might have helped.

Why do they never do that, anyway? Why are regenerations always at the beginning/end of a season /Xmas special? It would be awesome if they just plonked one in unannounced in the middle of an episode .
