Amelia and Sandi peed me off. Sarah was bawling her eyes out, said thanks, gave her a massive hug and seemed genuinely touched by it.

What else could she have done?! How much in the way of thanks did she expect? If you genuinely want to do something nice for someone, you shouldn't do it for any reason. If you get a thank you, great.

A bit like people who can't do a good deed without shouting about it all over FB and the like. I was once told it's only a good deed if you just do it and don't tell anyone nor expect any praise for what you've done. Those words have stayed with me.
