We have fortnightly everything which is a problem for basic waste. I found a dead pidgeon next to my back door and put it in with the household waste. When I opened the lid when putting the wheelie bin outside it was swarming with maggots. I have never had that before. But as it had been in there for nearly two weeks in hot weather that was the result. I had to bleach and scrub the damn thing and still felt 'infected'. It was awful.
