Wasted potential???? I get why people wouldn't like him because of how crazy and annoying he is but wasted potential would imply he didn't envoke his character enough, but that's just objectively false because of how much potential they actually put to use; his anxiety attacks, a messy destructive romance with Sky, his descent from being level-headed to being the craziest, etc. It's fine to not like any of this but they clearly knew what direction to take him in and how to release it properly.
