Because Ann represented a 100% true blue Tory constituency - 'might be a pointer' too!

Yes Ann did give a reason for her nomination but I for one would question its validity. Interesting how both Emma and Ryland had to make remarks about the possibility of a dodgy nomination?

Sorry, but what has the boys state of 'arousal' got to do with anything? I never raised it in the first place YOU did?!

Geeze, I really had thought the UK had moved on from its homophobic and bigoted past but clearly I am wrong seeing so many are willing to condone it in the 21st century.

You say that you are not condoning homophobic people yet find flaws in the accusations that is a homophobe - sorry but that simply has to be an oxymoron?!

I think the case that Ann is a homophobe has been eloquently made on this forum and on forums well beyond BB. Just read web sites such as Pink News and you might get a flavour of how Miss Widdy is viewed beyond the confines of the BBH.

Not all batty and eccentric 'old ladies' are necessarily nice!

Finally, I don't pain the whole world as homophobic, where have I said that?

I have luckily lived most my life without bumping into homophobes. Interestingly, I usually only encounter them on Forums such as this.

Pink News - sounds like a teenage girl’s bitchfest - straight or trans! No thanks!

Sorry, pink news is a bit of a joke these days. Started off well but now? Its ridiculous

I name it penisnews tbh as it ignores lesbians completely. Then again so does stonewall and Ruth Hunt. Despite being a lesbian herself. Lesbianism is unacceptable in this day and age apparently.

I agree with your comments about Pink News, has gone down as you say. But I was merely trying to direct some on this Forum away from seeing Ann as some benign old lady and in doing some research on her. Pink News perhaps being a start but other periodicals are available.

I personally like the Guardian, Independent and New Statesman but dip into the PN just for a bit of LGBT gossip

I cannot stand the Guardian anymore, used to be my fave paper too. Independent is OK. New Statesman I really really like,. they seem to give fair representation to all views rather than censoring one side like the Guardian do. My personal fave at the moment is the Times though, and I never thought I would say that!

I get what you mean though..about directing people to news sources outside of the right wing press.

I feel a bit of rage everytime I see Penisnews mentioned. My comment was possibly unfair, sorry

That's fine Vicky, no offence taken at all.

I agree somewhat about the Guardian. I too dip into The Times and even the Financial Times and Economist. The Times has, of late, been much more middle of the road. As a staunch Remainer too I love it when The Times in particular points out the folly to it's mainly right wing readership.

Which reminds me why has no one picked up on Daniels remark "Fooking lesbians" IF Ann had said Fooking gays" this place would have gone into meltdown(but it would have been hilarious) This isn't aimed at you Vicky, you just reminded me.

Yeah, I was kind of expecting a thread on that if I am honest. Didn't particularly care enough to make one myself though

I have lived my life without grown men calling elderly unmarried ladies the C word and discussing their sex life. Yet, that's OK because they are not homophobes.

Discussing her sex life on public TV! A real man would never do That! He’s a creep.

Now, now I didn't condone Andrew's abuse of Ann that's another thing totally. I have been discussing her bigotry and homophobia. Her being abused and having horrible words like the C word used is well out of order!

But in none of my posts did I in any way mention or condone verbal abuse of Ann. I was merely discussing her bigotry and homophobia and terrible voting record on LGBT rights.

I don't take it personal either. I know this has been a heated debate but as I and I'm sure others are from the LGBT community themselves then naturally we'd be quite vociferous in defending our equal rights and pointing out those, like Ann as an MP, who have tried to deny us those rights. That's all.

Now you really are not making any sense at all ?!

When did I say Ann's constituents had to vote for 'my agenda'? I wasn't standing nor am I an MP.

I said Ann's constituents voted for her because she was in a 100% SAFE Tory seat. They would have voted for a dog or a cat had the Tories put either up. It frankly wouldn't matter they're largely all Tories in Maidstone and The Weald!

Your comment was ambiguous, I couldn't understand why you wrote what you did because it seemed so odd.

But I now take your point. All constituencies have at one time favored a certain party, nothing wrong with that.

I believe her reason for been against civil partnership's at the time were due to marriage been undermined as in people will opt for a civil partnership rather than marriage to have children and she believes people should be married if having children.
