Quand il pleut, il pleut
|
..the New Jersey parents was my favourite..
...for me, it was the most perfectly matched strict parents and troubled teens...the parents, Scott and Joe were both amazing people but Scott had himself been adopted and had suffered awful physical abuse as a child...so the re-bonding of the young people with their parents, was so important to him as he had never known his own parents...Wes, one of the teens was about to become a parent himself in a few months but he was taking no responsibility and had distanced himself from any thought of his unborn daughter...after the week with Scott and Joe and their family, he became really open to his responsibilities and was very enthusiastic and excited...the other troubled teen, Tamsin...she had became very distant from her parents, since drugs became part of her life...especially her mum, there was no communication between them, although they loved each other very much...anyway, Scott formed such a close bond with her, he broke down her walls as it were..that he asked her to stay a few weeks longer..and when she return to her parents, he went with her to meet them and be there for the reunion...all of the teens were lovely, the strict parents were quite exceptional and the actual parents were beautiful as well... ...such an emotional episode...

They let her stay in the US to recover, which I thought was so good they allowed that accommodation. Having boundaries and strict guidelines is key, sure, but none of it is effective without love in the home and the ability to communicate I think... Hearing from the background story of the father in the nail salon was heartbreaking.

..yeah it was heartbreaking, Maru...there he was with his perfect home, his perfect car, looking so perfect in every way and having his perfect nails manicured... so it was completely unexpected in the setting also..but then quite obvious as well..
...because of his own adoptions, plus his fostering../..well both he and his partner, obviously...but his was the only life back story to be revealed...without that, that knowledge of his own life and his ‘disconnections’, would she have given and felt the same trust..was it that which made the difference, is interesting...

Same. I looked up their names after watching so I could see how everything turned out, if there was anything out there, like an article.I found the young man's Twitter... looks like he's chose the club scene as his career of choice... of course he could be highly successful, and this may be a good fit, but no way to know without a proper "reunion" episode, etc... I guess it's not really our business, but I would like to personally know if there was a happy ending after all, that they are now better off, etc... https://twitter.com/wezmcg
