I think it's apparent John Yorke is definitely not properly actively involved with the show. He's just keeping it ticking over. He can't do this full time as well as Red Rock.

Either that or Oliver Kent has too much input.

Either that or EastEnders is unsalvageable by anyone and has had its day.

I don’t really watch anymore but apparently Casualty and Holby have been a lot better since Oliver Kent left to his new job

Casualty's kinda poor because of the cast exits but it's been a lot more watchable recently than it has been
