Leo Tolstoy once said that he didn't believe War and Peace and other Russian classical literature could be classified as novels in the traditional sense for he believed that, in actuality, War and Peace (as well as the others) were in fact an examination of the political and societal issues of the time in the guise of a fictional story.
Would you agree with this? Please state reasons why. |
