But surely if that's the case then he should completely ignore the situation.

It's not like he hasn't done it before, he physically removed himself away from Luisa and Jasmine when they were clearly irritating him. And did so again when Jasmine went outside to troll him.

He just loves his work of mind-****ing Linda and making her look bad. I'm not a fan of Linda so it's not like I don't think she contributes to it, but I feel that Jim relishes in the fact that she's upset.

Be fair, you said it yourself, Jim has always walked away from her attacks before, just this once he bit back, he's hardly trying to mess with her mind all the time (as you say) as he did usually walk away from her.
