What confuses me is the fact that the whole media got the figures for catchup/recorded figures ect from ITV2 which reportedly took Love Island up to an average of 5 million viewers :/

1.21 million
Down 270k on last year (though that was only an hour eviction, not finishing so late as 10:45pm last night) I thought it'd be a bit higher given how dramatic it was and trending 6 times on twitter. Hopefully catch up numbers will be substantial |

Thanks for that, great illustration of how vital BB is to C5s ratings, officials add so much more to BB than to its other shows. Theyd be insanely foolish and arrogant (which unfortunately Frow is) to axe it. Imagine how much lower whatever bombed on Friday at 10 would be without the massive CBB lead in, probably half of those paltry 400k viewers were just people who fell asleep or left the channel on without watching what was on it.

What do we think tonight?
Twitter still exploding. Hundreds of tweets every 5 mins at the moment whilst the show is not on air. Never happens. Also the "big tease" video they post a few hours before the show daily on Facebook (which usually gets around 50-80,000 views) is up to 420,000 views so far in 2 hours. 1.5m tonight? I know it's a Friday and it's even up against Celebrity Masterchef and an England friendly match but i think it will be at least what it got last night (1.4m). Would make it the highest summer Friday rating for an eviction since CBB18. |

No idea why any fan wants her out, this is the most press and social media attention the show has had in years
Long may the controversy continue |

Because the complaints will give more ammunition to those at channel 5 who want it axed? CBB5 was probaably the year the show was most talked about, but I'd hardly say it was good for the brand.

The reason CBB5 damaged the brand is because Channel 4 handled it so badly. They suppressed footage, didn't intervene early enough, and were eventually forced to broadcast an apology by Ofcom. Somehow I don't see that happening this time. They intervened, they've exposed Roxanne and cleverly allowed her keep digging, and not (that we know of) suppressed any footage. You're kidding if you don't think Paul Osborne and Ben Frow are enjoying all this attention today. All press is good press - sometimes. |

Also they're handling it pretty badly if you ask me. Tonight's trailer having more replies than likes on twitter due to people criticising the show implies people aren't particularly happy with the way producers are handling things. |

Useless comparison, that was a whole different era, the show was at the height of its popularity at the time and in no danger of being cancelled. Now it needs all the viewers and publicity it can get, however it can get it, period.

Why do you think they're handling it badly and what do you think they should have done differently? People on Twitter are dense and reactive, they were always going to fall over themselves demanding she be removed just like they do when someone uncovers something a housemate said six years ago. From a production and duty of care standpoint, if a housemate complaints that they were assaulted and feel threatened, they have to do something. They couldn't just turn around and accuse her of lying, that'd be a really bad look. Hence why they've aired the scene, shown her reaction, their response, and let the public make their minds up. |

This. It sounds awful but she’s an absolute car crash that is attracting viewers. I will actually be surprised if she goes tonight as last night happened quite close to the eviction.
