I couldn't believe this news when I heard. I thought (and desperately hoped) it was just a hoax. Caroline hasn't left my thoughts since this news broke 24 hours ago. It shocks and saddens me that such a charismatic, prominent and CURRENT television host has lost her life to, of all things, suicide. As a society we are moving at such a quick pace with regard to technological advances and our interconnectedness with eachother via means such as social media; and although this can be a great thing which we can all benefit from, it also proves in equal measures to be damning and dangerous.
This time last year Flack was at the top of her game. Strictly, Love Island, heck even The X(tra) Factor made her a household name who might not have been loved by all, but was certainly recognised as an key figure in British culture. Media speculation was always rife about her but at least she seemed to be coping. I can't wrap my head around that she's gone. I am very happy she's being given the respect she deserves by her colleagues, friends and anyone that knew her. She was clearly a lovely woman and had that cheeky, geezer-bird-ish quality about her which so many people gravitate to and love. It's absurd that we have to witness such a beautiful, outgoing and successful person be pushed to the point where she has to take her own life. Absurd. |

I'm sorry, but celebrity deaths don't shock me.
They don't even make me emotional. I pity the death and the family left behind, but I just gape in disbelief that it takes a celeb to die for such an out pouring of emotion, guilt and pity. |

People aren't going to be discussing their family's deaths on public platforms like this. The comparison is not valid. |

Let's be real here, she could have well faced a prison sentence. What she did could be classed as GBH or ABH one of the two, or even attempted murder.
I think that, along with career and financial losses, that was the reason she resorted to this. My best mate committed suicide in 2014, it came totally out of the Blue, and was shocking, because to me, that wasn't him. But the thought of him possibly going to prison spiralled him into depression in no time, and that was that. Last edited by Alf; 16-02-2020 at 04:52 PM. |

Sorry but why were Fathers For Justice going after her? Shouldn't they be scaling buildings dressed as spiderman to hold banners nobody reads?

It really makes no sense. It's almost like they're saying "fathers stopped from seeing their kids due to domestic abuse should be allowed to because look women can be abusers too". The message makes zero sense.

Laura Whitmore's words actually really hit home for me.
I think we are all guilty of it it some way, shape or form but it's not my place to preach so I'll just speak for myself. I look and think back to some of the things I've said and shes right, I should be ashamed - just this past series I was laughing at Connors teeth and really it was pathetic, he obviously had veneers to cover up an insecurity and I came on here and on whatsapp and called him names and its not cute its mean, I got caught up in the moment and just post stuff I find amusing and say it's ok because it's only seen by a select few but it's really not, its cruel and so uncalled for, I could have easily just said he wasnt my cup of tea or I found him beige or better still just ignored him and made comments on things I like or just situations instead. I need to do better and I will in the future.

Yes , nicely put .. It's not mean, because you're not mean. You're just doing what everybody else does. We all insult people from time to time. You'll be back to slagging me and others off soon, because that's natural. And I'll be fine with that. |

I actually think some good could come out of this tragedy if only of some people start being kinder and more tolerant of others . Sadly real bad people will always exist Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Exactly, I reigned myself in a while ago, as I have in the past give some of the BB contestants a hard time , but I would never want to be cruel, people can't help their looks,so comments about that are a no no to me now and to be honest uts quite childish, but I wonder how long it will be before people forget this lesson to be kind.

I think a few of us have already said that we will make positive adjustments to the way we are with others .. that should also apply to how we speak to each other in this very forum though .. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Please don't be kind to me, I find it embarrassing, especially when it's forced, fake kindness. I prefer honesty.

I think you can be honest about having issues with someone without having to be brutal about them.
