I think it’s nuanced. She did say to Nathan that you can think someone’s a bit fake but still like them. I think that’s probably where she stands with Khaled. The thing with Khaled is, and he’s said himself, he comes across very much like he’s on his best behaviour at all times. Similar to Segun he is a bit of a people pleaser, wants to come across well etc. By default that means he’s not going to be quite as authentic as he would be otherwise. So I assume that’s what Ali’s picking up on if she thinks of him as ‘a bit fake’. But I think she understands now that that’s not coming from a bad place or from him being a game player/putting on a total act etc. He’s just genuinely a very kind, well-meaning guy who wants to behave well.

I do wish all these grown adults would stop using the word ‘fake’ to describe one another though! It’s so silly.

People say this as though it’s a sign Ali is a total bitch or something, but the reality is she just doesn’t click with a lot of people in the house. I don’t think that means she doesn’t care about them. It’s similar to being stuck in a confined space with family members or coworkers you don’t have much in common with. You might not actively like them or choose to spend time with them of your own volition, but you don’t dislike them, and you still care about their well-being.

And this was always likely to be the case for Ali because she’s an autistic person w ADHD in a house largely full of neurotypical people. I’m also autistic and ADHD and the reality is it’s just difficult for us to connect with neurotypical people and vice versa. If you threw 1 neurotypical person into a house largely full of neurodivergent people they’d struggle in a similar way. (I’d watch that!)

Add to that that most of the people in the house, especially at this point, come from pretty different social/political backgrounds to Ali and it’s not really a surprise.

Not to derail this thread for Khaled, but the endless Ali hate, on almost every thread regardless of the topic, is just a bit tiring. These are all human beings, not two-dimensional figures.

To bring it back on topic - do I think Khaled is someone she’d choose to be friends with on the outside? Probably not. That doesn’t mean she can’t have developed a genuine warmth and affection for him within the house, and I do think she has. I think she misjudged him initially, acted poorly at times, gradually got to know him and warmed to him. People’s feelings for other people change all the time.

A few people brought that up on yesterday's live. He seemed a bit non-plussed by it though said Emma has mentioned it a few times to it whilst in the house. I don't think he's met Emma's daughter yet; perhaps tonight at the final?

He, Thomas and maybe Lily will be going by train. He hadn't sorted out his final outfit yet. They tried to get Lily involved in the live but she was busy fake tanning!

Nothing extra on Hanah and Segun. He had missed last night's show. Thomas hadn't, and both were slightly worried about the impact on the core. Both want to have a core live chat after the final, though Marcello is apparently banned from TikTok and Thomas, for some reason, now has a temporary ban as well.

He brought people on to ask him questions. Nothing too deep for the most part, though he mentioned about his boxing training and controlling his emotions helped him stay calm through the Nathan situation. Excluding the core, he felt closest to Emma and Ryan in the house. He did speak a little more about Ali, and said they were on better terms when he left the house.

His inspiration is Muhammad Ali whilst he'd like to meet with Joe Rogan (as he speaks to people from various backgrounds on his podcast), Mike Tyson (which might show how events which happened before Khaled was born have been forgotten by society) and Michael Bipsing. The caller who asked him the question said he definitely had a type which is true - he's into UFC/MMA/boxing.

I should have been brave enough to put my hand uo and ask him about Marcello's head of house choices and his relationship with Sarah, two things I'm interested in hearing more about, but I preferred to stay silent.

Thanks for sharing. Re Sarah, he had a brief radio interview I managed to catch. I started listening about halfway through a question about potentially patching things up with Sarah. Khaled essentially said maybe when they see one another he’ll speak to her about things, but he said it in such a way that it sounded doubtful and like he wasn’t very interested in rebuilding their friendship. Which is the vibe I got from him on L&L as well when they asked him how he felt about her forgetting about him. He didn’t explicitly say this though, so I could be wrong.

It's a shame as they seemed quite close early on, and Sarah always referenced him being there to comfort her and cheer her up when she was upset. Perhaps her "ivory tower" comment coupled with "stop the gloats" has drawn a line for him. Perhaps they'll be able to patch things up tonight. I hope so.

I think the main issue was how she reacted when he spoke to her about it. I agree they seemed to be really close, and then as soon as he was (understandably) upset with her comments, she did a 180 on him. And he handled being upset well imo - he gave himself time to process, when she questioned him about it he just said he needed a bit of distance, and then explained to her calmly why he felt upset. And in response she didn’t give much reassurance or understanding, complained in the DR that he had upset her by saying that he’d been upset by something genuinely unkind that she’d said, then nominated him and immediately forgot he’d even been evicted! It was an alarming change of feeling imo. Felt like she discarded him as soon as he dared to just say ‘hey, something you said upset me’.

It’s one of my absolute pet peeves when someone turns it around and says ‘this person was in the wrong because they upset me by speaking to me about something hurtful I did’. Nathan and Marcello do it often too. Ali did it to an extent with Khaled too, though their situation felt a bit more complex to me. Lots of people in this house who are incapable of holding themselves accountable for their actions!

Add to that the ‘stop the gloats’ comment and it’s not surprising if he feels quite differently about her now. (Especially as a refugee that comment would be most relevant to him.)

They did seem very close so it’s sad the way things developed.

I think it was partly Ali still seemingly questioning him in her winner's interview when she said she was pleased things had been cleared when he left coupled with the very obvious Hanah and Segun fallout, which has probably gone beyond even his worst expectations. He was planning to do a TikTok live on Sunday - hopefully he still does.

I don’t think she was trying to criticise him, she was just trying to explain where she was coming from, but it does seem like she doesn’t understand what was wrong with her treatment of him and doesn’t regret it/isn’t holding herself accountable. I know on his eviction interview, based on them telling him she had been defending him, he thought that she had held herself accountable, so I’m sure he’s disappointed by that. I was watching it like…for the love of god Ali, just say you regret it 😫

I would have more respect for her if she comes out in the next few weeks and does realise the error of her ways when it comes to him. She went in on him hard for very little reason from about day 4/5 it was very early on with the fake comments. The guy is only 23. If it was a 38 year old man doing that to a 23 year old girl imagine the difference.

The point scoring thing I think Will said it as a little dig.

I think he also could be upset at the Segan/Hanah situation.

Just seen a video of the after party and he is all smiling in it so guess he is now over it.
