Trump is going to find this conflict much harder to get out of. He cant leave while missiles are being fired, and if he backs down it makes him look weak

It's easy to be facetious and say "of course Starmer is letting the USA use our sites - he previously said he wouldn't" ... but yeah, as others have said, this time it's a no-brainer.

which is the other reason he did it

So why change his / our minds just hours after making a statement saying we were NOT gonna get involved ..

Sky News have various people asking / questioning this very point this morning

Tbh it is rather annoying to be dragged into a war we had no part in creating and which we weren't even consulted about before it started

You can't really have a short and limited war in the Middle East. The whole region is such a melting pot of tensions that once it starts boiling over (which doesn't take much) there's no stopping it. I think Trump was too high off the success of Venezuela and thought he could just do a similar thing here but Iran is a very different beast, it is much more capable of defending itself and fighting back and there's a lot more interdependencies with wider regional security. This could particularly devastate the Gulf economies which have built their success based off stability and reliable oil supply in recent decades which is now at huge threat

British Airways
has tested Bussing their staff to a 2nd nation
Now they are flying home.

That will soon be set up
to start taking by Buss to another safer nation to fly home.

Saudi Arabia is not easy, as a Visa is needed.

Exclamation

A Muslim society at a prestigious British university has mourned the death of the Iranian Ayatollah as an "unimaginable loss".

The Ahlul-Bayt Islamic Society at University College London (UCL) expressed its "sincere condolences" after the of Ali Khamenei, posting a tribute to him alongside a prayer to be recited in his memory.

The society claimed the expression of mourning was not any form of "incitement, endorsement of violence, or unlawful mobilisation".

The death of the Iranian leader was described as "martyrdom" by the Ahlul-Bayt Islamic Society, with condolences given from "all at UCL ABSoc".

The group's "mental health team" went on to describe his death as an "unimaginable loss for the entire Ummah", or the Muslim world.

I think the better question is, why make such a definitive statement so early ?

He shouldn't have been so quick and definitive to say that they'd say no.
