I still can't believe they're killing Peggy off.

Still, if she can't commit to the show full-time then I guess we'd already be running out of plausible ways to keep on bringing her back for guest appearances.

I think it was Barbara Windsor's idea to kill her off.

I don't think you could run out of plausible ways, her family live on the square. As long as they are then that's all the reason she ever needed for showing up.
