yeah, i think a vaccine is more than likely a red herring. We have yet to find a vaccine for the common cold for example. They have also found that antibodies to covid disappear within 3 months, which makes it a non starter. They should be concentrating on effective treatments, so at the first signs of a problem, we pop a pill ... simple

I think we can be 99.99% sure in fairness, any claims otherwise are massive outliers to the very strong international consensus. That 'Oxford expert' who said it might not have done has had his argument pretty well rubbished now

I read (and I think posted) about how there's robust ecidence that lasting T-cell immunity does exist, but that vaccine development (and discussion of herd immunity) is focussed heavily on antibody immunity.

Effective "anti Covid" T-cells basically means you can still catch it but will be asymptomatic or have mild symptoms (similar to the common cold) and be very very unlikely to get severely ill or die. But it of course also means you're contagious while you have it which is a problem for anyone without covid-fighting T-cells.

The concept of T-cell vaccination is highly unpopular and no one will fund it, though. Because people want any vaccine developed to be a preventative measure of the entire illness, not a way to lessen severity and number of deaths.

It's highly likely that the reason the other established "common cold" coronaviruses that circulate aren't a problem is that humans have good T-cell immunity to them, because they've been around for many generations. Quite possible that they were far more serious illnesses when they first jumped to humans.

At least three establishments announced they had shut their doors again just days after reopening at the weekend.

They were among hundreds of venues that welcomed customers for the first time in three months as lockdown measures were eased.

Crowds descended in some towns and cities, prompting fears social distancing was being disregarded.

The affected pubs announced their closures via Facebook.

The Lighthouse Kitchen and Carvery in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, said it was "slowly" working through a list of customers who had left details at the weekend.

In Batley, West Yorkshire, the Fox and Hounds said a customer had phoned to say they had tested positive for coronavirus.

The pub said staff had taken tests and the venue would be deep-cleaned prior to reopening.

Meanwhile the Village Home Pub in Alverstoke, Hampshire, said some staff were isolating due to "a case of coronavirus in the pub".

It told customers who had visited at the weekend there was "no need to isolate" unless they showed symptoms or were contacted by tracers.

All three pubs had previously posted about implementing new social distancing and safety guidelines in line with government advice.

Yes well done the 3 Pubs
contacting by phone all on their list.
A Deep Clean in process.

Serbia having few more lockdown measures again, that is more because of recent new cases increase, from that incident at Adria Open

anti-covid lockdown protests happening there too now i saw on the news, against the new measures ordered by president vucic

i guess Vucic made the right call there, i kinda hope Djokovic will be fined, since it was pretty irresponsible allowing that many audience at his organized tournament, and also most had no face masks on during whole match so it wasn't handled properly according to corona regulations (unlike Mouratoglou's UTS where there was social distancing among some of public, and there was constant usage of face masks

Why is sorry such a hard word for this PM to say and his Ministers.

His words were clear.
He was trying to level blame elsewhere.

Just say he was sorry and for goodness sake just answer questions put to him, NOT ask them!!!

Yes PM claims he was saying the sentence as part of another
meaning he will not allow any to edit it out
