Indeed, doesn't make it acceptable though or that we should sit back and defend it or let it pass

Thus when TV shows like this exist you get women taking mens side a lot of the time and slut shaming the female contestants. It has everything to do with patriarchy. |

Not to mention the first and only Asian and Black winners in BB/CBB happened to win the series which both aired in 2007 - which is also the year of racial misconduct within BBUK.

Very interesting. Does seem weird that both would win in 2007. Also find it quite interesting that Brian Belo is not a stereotypical black guy more like a white essex guy...just saying.

Ageism, is equally prevalent in BB. There hasnt been that many House mates over the age of 40 in the normal BBs, and even less in the channel 5 years. Eileen being nominated for her age was ludicrous, especially as she was shaping up to be an entertaining house Yet CBB has a lot of 40 plus who have proved entertaining have gone on to win.

You can be entertaining and likeable at the same time. If you go in there and start shouting the odds (Marc), then the public are likely to hate you. Quick fix to the issue? Don't be a dick.
So many people on here are like "ah the big characters always go first" yes, because production are ****ing **** at getting the casting right. They think we're only interested in people who are likely to cause drama when that has never been the case. If they put someone in who is a big character but isn't mean, vile and nasty, then the public will save them. The term "big character" is losing its meaning and nowadays, basically just means people who cause unnecessary conflict. Last edited by Ashley.; 25-07-2015 at 09:37 PM. |

It's funny how some people are throwing out that all of the black women are AGGRESSIVE and that's why they go. I personally think someone like Marcus Akin is a lot more aggressive, but you never see him get called that.
Also, one black man winning doesn't disqualify the fact that it took twelve years for a black woman to survive a head-to-head eviction ![]()

Or the fact that almost every single black female has either been evicted at the first opportunity, hasn't made it past the halfway mark of their respective series, and booted out to an awful reception. |

Actually Makosi provided the most entertainment all series (isn't that the reason behind Helen's win?) yet she was beaten by Eubore and Anthony

I don't think Rachel Rice should have won BB9 but life's a bitch. More people liked Anthony than liked makosi. That simple. And it was predictable because anthony was a cheeky chappy, geordie nice guy type and makosi was a manipulative "pretend to be pregnant" type. Makosi was never going to win after her antics. |

It would depend on the evictees they never cast any whites so it's difficult to say really Quote:
Ever been to South Africa? The last census in the UK whites made up 81 per cent of the population put that in the context of BB the ratio of blacks/Asians cast seems pretty fair Last edited by Cherie; 26-07-2015 at 07:47 AM. |

Because obviously Melanie doesn't realize while being in the house that the public is hoping for Claire to cheat on her boyfriend and get with Craig?

If you have a country that is about 88% white and you have a tv gameshow where only 1 or 2 people per year are non-white then why would you expect lots of non-white winners? |
