A caller on LBC last night made an interesting point - with Hunt leading the Tories, people will be less likely to vote for their local Tory MP. This makes me want Gove a little more, though there is plenty of time for anyone in the position to turn around the general public's opinion of them.
(both came off pretty well in their LBC interviews) |

No matter who wins, they are not going to get past October without being fatally wounded. If the tories were going to get themselves out of the mess, someone would have come out with a brand new, fresh strategy. All of them, including Rory, just didn't deliver anything fresh. That's the problem in UK politics at the moment, across the board. It's completely stale

The elephant in the room is that Boris could basically pick his preferred opponent by lending enough votes to someone. I think he'll try and knock Gove out

If May demonstrated anything it was that a PM is useless without the support of the cabinet and a consensus in parliament. This isn't the USA, the PM has very little power compared to the president. Whoever wins will find they cant just do as they want.

Boris got his revenge then, I think Gove would have done it had there not been backroom meddling.... Boris has got this, no way is Hunt winning not after the way he handled the NHS
