Default Coronavirus Outbreak 5PM Live Health Secretary/ Prof VanTam/ Dr.Hopkins

The arrival of this Brazilian variant has come just at the wrong time for all us working in education ...

They are trying to convince us that our schools and colleges will be Covid free due to all the kids having home testing kits .. these are the very same LFD tests used in Liverpool which are apparently as low as 48% accurate when done by a trained adult so I don’t see how the home testing option is going to give BETTER accuracy rates than that .

:::::

On this morning’s BBC Breakfast, interviewer Naga Munchetty put it to Mr Gibb that the tests “detected just 48.9 per cent of Covid-19 infections in asymptomatic people”. The schools minister replied: “No, about a third have false negatives”. He added that pupils would get two tests each, three days apart.

There was a similar exchange in the House of Commons earlier in the week, when SNP MP Philippa Whitford confronted Mr Hancock with the results of a study that “revealed a sensitivity of just 48 per cent, meaning that over half of those with the virus would be falsely reassured they were negative”.

Right..

The government know that this missing person was on the Swissair flight lx 318 from Switzerland to the Uk on the 10th Feb so I don’t really understand why they are asking people to come forward .

Why hasn’t EVERY person on the flight been contacted already ??

Presumably many will be in family groups which makes things easier.

How on earth do we ever catch unknown murderers and terrorists if we can’t even locate someone we have every known detail about . ???

Just watching the briefing now and it’s not even clear that the missing person was even on the flight ... maybe just a routine , random home testing test result ?

It's near, the testing is being concentrated on a couple of commuter towns just outside Bristol

Thankfully I am just over the border in uninfected Gloucestershire

The vaccine works.
If we do it every year we could have pretty much a normal life back.

We're doing so well. Once all adults are vaccinated we should be able to have some normality back.
Can't wait!

So Matt Hancock says they’re closing in on the missing person !

They’ve narrowed it down to 379 households in the south east ..
