I'm not too sure about a vaccine that has been produced so quickly and not been through the normal rigorous testing that new medicines normally go through.

I don't think it will be available yet for a while.
Not until it's safe. So could be a year?

these things could have side effects that only appear after an extended period. A year or less is nothing

my parents had called our supermarket's manager just now, some of their personnel were not wearing face masks, and also some were coughing/sneezing a lot

their explanation was like they are aware some employees have hay fever, one also has asthma

my mom is now thinking about wearing a face mask from next week and onwards here in supermarket

I agree and I'm a bit worried they might make it mandatory, as I am with all vaccines. (I'm pro childhood vaccination but I strongly believe that no medical procedure should ever be mandatory - though I've been accused of being covertly anti-vax for this stance in the past).

My hopes though is that it's aimed mainly at vulnerable demographics. For example, I would say that on balance, anyone over 70 is at far more risk from Covid than from potential vaccine side effects and should take the jab.

I can see it happening in 3 phases ... over 70, over 60 and then anyone else that wants it. Health staff and carers may also be first on the list thinking about it

yes i think so, most of recovered there had quite some near life/death moments but doctors really worked hard to save them

that one british pilot (from scotland) whom lives in Vietnam, he nearly died, 10% capacity working of his lungs at some point, he recovered and was able to breathe on his own again after some time, and now he went home after extra days in hospital for observation (more a routine thing over there)

the best health services in the world have struggled keeping people alive and Vietnam is no better than them. There are plenty miracle stories from people who have survived in the UK even though many have died.

They were right in the midst of SARS in 2003 and started prepping for this as soon as Covid-19 was announced in China. A common theme is that the SARS-affected East Asian countries took it more seriously from the start. Of course it now seems that the country that took it the least seriously (the United States) is going to be off the chart.

1 death for Scotland after a run of 7 days with 0. Only 6 cases in ICU. I'm a bit concerned about what I've seen of restaurants opening though... Different groups sat at back-to-back tables with less than 1m between them and obviously, no masks in a restaurant. Hopefully cases are already low enough for the risk to be very low... But I'm not convinced it was time, or at least, there should be spaced out tables.
