The problem with cable series is you only get like 10-14 episodes per year, while network shows get like 20-24. cable really needs to make longer seasons.

Damian Lewis Talks ‘Homeland’ Season 3, Future Of Show And Death Of Brody

Showtime’s Homeland is set to go back into production and star Damian Lewis was asked about the future the show and what fans should expect.

”It will run its natural course. If that’s only four years, it will only be four years… and there’s no guarantee that my character will be around,” Lewis said to Radio Times.

Fans shouldn’t fear the death of Brody anytime soon as Lewis recently signed a seven-year Homeland contract, but insisted his deal did not guarantee a future on the series.

”The series could rebirth itself each year by just finding a new threat. So you can go past Brody because the anchor of the show is in the CIA, it’s in the threat to homeland security.”

His British co-star David Harewood’s character, CIA operative David Estes, was recently killed off in the drama.

This year the cast of Homeland swept the Golden Globes and assures success for a few seasons ahead.

Homeland is set to return September 29, 2013.

Not that great of an episode really, the only interesting scenes were the ones of Quinn on his mission and Saul's courtroom scene.

And seriously.. the amount of criticism they got in Season 2 for making Dana such a prominent character and giving her a stupid storyline and they are in the process of doing the exact same thing all over again. Brody's son is unbelievably annoying aswell.. Would be great if they just killed his family off

Is it just me, or have these 2 episodes been a bit flat?

I don't know if it's because Brody isn't in them, or what.. I'm just losing interest a bit. I also liked the Estes/Quinn thing from last season. Estes seemed to be prepared to do anything to save his own ass, but Quinn has something of a moral compass.

Quinn could be a really good character, but he's being underused. He seems to spend most of the time skulking around in the background.

Not sure what to make of the Muslim analyst storyline. Are we supposed to believe that every Muslim is treated like an outsider in the CIA.. or that the director would speak to her like that.. it's all a bit iffy.

First ep wasn't hugely exciting but seemed to be setting up some interesting stuff (apart from Dana) and was less concerned with over the top action which was good, will watch the second ep tonight

Haven't watched the second yet either, will watch it on wednesday. Not really that big a fan of Brody, I prefer Quinn and Saul (and Mike), but it doesn't really feel the same without him. I know he'll be back this season sometime but the sooner the better really.

Yeah not that good really, it's definitely a slow start to the season. Feel like Carrie is becoming a bit too unhinged atm, bit bored of it. Not sure how much I buy the change in Saul either, bit random him going mental at that girl for wearing a headscarf.

I don't see why the writers seem so desperate for Dana to apparently be a really important character while they just keep Brody's son as the pointless person ever as well

Show badly needs Brody back next ep to keep people interested
