No I don't have any sympathy for him, how arrogant of him to assume he'll get gold and crying when he doesn't. Any sort of medal is an achievement and his despair at 'only' getting a silver was disgraceful.

Yeah this, Becky Addy got 2 Bronzes in the swimming & everyone expected her to get golds & she was absolutely chuffed with her Bronzes

Tom deserved silver anyways, his dives were better!

If he's the favourite in the event I don't really blame him thinking he'll get Gold..

All I'm saying, the pressure he was under, how these Chinese are brought up, probably a much younger age then Tom, probably terrible conditions to compete in..and then it to be over just like that, and 39439843984 million people being dissapointed him..

To be fair, he's part of a whole diving team, and seeing all of his friends/team-mates win gold, and he's the lonesome that didn't win. that is pretty depressing.

have i been sufficiently empathetic???

then i'd also like to say USA! USA! USA!! ahahahahahahaaaa

Pretty much like Cavindish back in 2008 on the British track cycling team when he was the only person out of 13 that didn't get a medal but the Cav never cried about it he just went on about his business

The American diver was awesome, well done to Tom though for getting the bronze, a good base to now begin his challenge for gold at the next olympics.

I watched Boudia qualified in last place last night, and he said "it's god's will that i got into this final" i was like wtf, **** off with yur god stuff.

He's a super evangelical christian, and he was pissing me off last night, i was actually reallt annoyed with him and ridiculing him.

Today he wins gold. and i'm like wtf....

most Chinese people are athiests right?
