Quite a few people have said they would donate for nothing or even donate anonymously but there is nothing wrong with adding a few extra things for subscribers more so as a thanks than anything else.

This forum is like one of the best ones around, don't see why all of a sudden it needs enhancing to become 'bigger and better than ever before' (didn't you see what C5 did to BB when they tried to make it more current? )

And I would/will donate REGARDLESS of whatever happens, I just don't want others to feel left out or me to feel like I'm a 'Very Important Person' just because I paid £1 extra than someone who just wants to use the forum for free for a bit of downtime from their lives.

You will not have a vip or whatever tag forced on you. You would just be able to use the 'premium features' (if we can even cal a coloured name or whatever that) if you chose to. People could still donate anonymously if they preferred

A little userbar under the persons name like Jay posted.
A selection of readable name colours to choose from - Dark Blue, Purple, Red, Green, Rainbow
Larger Inbox - Allows 50 extra incoming/outgoing private messages
Ability to see who viewed your profile

All of this I agree with, but not the who viewed your profile I find that a bit weird

This is perfectly fine. No need for 'VIP sections' or special powers to view what people are doing on invisible mode.

I'd be well up for donations being brought in if this was the 'reward' for donating (although I don't see why a reward is necessary)

Yeah, the OP was just random suggestions as far as I am aware. Never has a separate subforum/section been a realistic option for this really

The invisible mode thing too..it a bit intrusive.

I'm sure we could come up with some stuff that the majority would be happy with. There will always be a couple who moan no matter what

I'd donate if there was a feature installed on the forum for us to do so in order to maintain running costs. This is my online home. I wouldn't be doing it for special credit or for some status symbol type thing, I'd do it because I want to continue posting here and the only reason I am able to continue posting here is because Mark sees fit to continue paying for it out of his own pocket with no thanks or contribution from any of us, he barely even posts here anymore.

Sure, I don't see why not if people are willing to pay but surely the benefits would have to be better to encourage people to want to invest actual money, I mean for a few quid more you could have netflix or lovefilm to entertain yourself.

Then again what does my opinion matter I would never pay.
