Trump has stoked so much anger and filled their heads with so many lies, that they believe the election was actually “stolen” and that their actions and fury are justified.
It’s a scary but stupid sight |

If only the people inside my TV had known about Jimmy Saville all along. But the people inside the TV who worked and partied with him, only found out he was a monster at the same time as the rest of us. I love the people inside my television. Last edited by Alf; 08-01-2021 at 04:08 PM. |

... Whilst talking to people on the internet. I genuinely blame Josy and James, that 6 month ban drove him right into the hands of MAGA extremism ![]() Last edited by user104658; 08-01-2021 at 04:18 PM. |

Tbf I would probably respond in a similar way if I thought that we had a dictator running the UK, even if it turned out that I was wrong, what needed to happen and what still needs to happen is for Trump to admit the truth to his voters so that it all calms down.

"It's unquestionable that it was stolen, there's SO MUCH proof."
See... I don't doubt that they believe this. This is highlighting the danger of living in echo chambers both on and offline. They literally cannot understand how people "can't see what they see"because they have been spammed relentlessly with one version of reality... it's quite sad. |

It's a cult mindset, basically, a cult of extremists that have been radicalised and now, they've been weaponised.

It kind of blows up any theory that it was just a few people saying '**** the establishment'. These people genuinely think they are losing 'their' country.
I agree Trump has stoked this resentment throughout his entire term and to hold a rally after he has lost, when tensions are at their highest, and still claim he didnt lose shows a clear intent to incite.

Yeah idk why the Jussie Smolett case is still relevant in people’s minds 2 years on. When it was clear what happened, people condemned him for it and he wasn’t spared. However, despite the many wrongdoings of pro trump supporters, people are too quick to look the other way.
I’m starting to think the only reason Jussie Smolett keeps being brought up is because it’s the only success they have in proving something wrong and want to keep using this same case at every opportunity |

Besides that - if we cared to dig up the thread - there were actually plenty of people on here (myself included) who were agreeing that some things about the Smolett accusation didn't add up and that it would be prudent to wait to see how the evidence unfolded before jumping to conclusions. Short memories, I guess. Sadly, Alf can no longer see my posts to be corrected ![]() |

![]() So following on, why? Trumpism clearly has followers, but I think this is just like the rise of the Tea Party and birtherism and hopefully Trumpism will have the same fate and be pushed to the fringes. They'll get some traction maybe a seat or two in the house but hopefully not more. The question for me, is who is going to be the main purveyor of Trumpism? Surely Ted Cruz must face some consequences for actually attempting to challenge the election so cant see a way forward for him. What are you thoughts?
