Default Press conference summary

Nigel Farage said the UK is “skint” and steps must be taken to boost economic growth as Reform UK reiterated its pledge to increase the income tax threshold to Ł20,000.

Mr Farage said the national debt had ballooned under the Conservative Party’s watch, with tens of billions of pounds having to be spent on debt interest.

Speaking at a press conference in central London, the Reform leader said: “We need to face up to one or two realities. We are skint. And it is getting worse. And at some point in time we may even have trouble issuing gilts, issuing government bonds unless the market sees that we have got some solutions.

“And that is why the only way out is growth and I think what Richard [Tice] has just set out, in particular putting up the tax threshold to Ł20,000 would be a very, very big step in the right direction.”

The threshold at which people currently start to pay income tax is Ł12,570 but Reform want to lift it to Ł20,000.

Mr Tice said the move would leave the average person about Ł1,500 better off a year. It would also take seven million people out of paying income tax altogether, he said.

Dean Lindson

“I work in banking and capital markets and hearing Nigel Farage and Richard
Tice talking about financials competently is a breath of fresh air. Both know the
commercial realities of running the country.”

Allan Edmunds

“Raising the VAT threshold to 150K and the personal allowance to 20K is a very
shrewd move, which alone will raise the GDP of the country – and thereby
reduce the debt to GDP ratio. It will also increase economic output and
productivity. At last, some proper leadership.”

Andrew Hicks

“Thank goodness that one party is talking about saving our hard-earned
monies. All the others seem to think that they have a God-given right to
throw it around like confetti. How about stopping to pay such ridiculous
benefits and get everyone back to work?”

They'll get a handful of seats if that. It's all a bit silly isn't it.

That was the policy & plan until they invaded Poland (whom Britain had a defensive treaty with), we just like to pretend it was all much more noble than that as a nice bit of historical revisionism. British Aristocracy was totally prepped to cosy up with a largely Nazi-led Continental Europe.

More-or-less the same with the US 'cept it was Japan's aggressive tactics in East Asia that triggered them to start getting involved.

Exclamation

Crazed man throws gigantic ROCK at Nigel Farage, narrowly missing his head.

The man then attempted to throw more rocks at the Politican, who leads the
Reform Party, before being chased away and arrested.

Exclamation stochastic terrorism

On slate.com a nasty leftist thinks its ok to show violence to politicians if she does not like them

Today Nigel Farage nearly lost an eye

stochastic terrorism - the public demonization of a person or group resulting in the incitement of

a violent act, which is statistically probable but whose specifics cannot be predicted:

The lone-wolf attack was apparently influenced by the rhetoric of stochastic terrorism.

Not to a milkshake. And she didn't, to be fair, suggest that it was OK to throw rocks.

Sorry you're right again I foolishly forgot that milkshakes are a gateway projectile that often lead to rocks. The inevitable next step for these loooony leeefties woke lefty leftists on the left is that someone simply throws an entire immigrant at him . Absolutely right again LT. Every thread I've seen you on today you've been right!

Incentives for landlords to sell to in-place tennants isn't a terrible idea for a change you know. We offered to buy our rental property from landlord 2 years ago but he said nah. Greedy bastard. Not interested now, income has gone up so we're looking at bigger/nicer places for buying. He can keep it .

Not to puff my own trumpet Parmy but me and my wife are highly intelligent middle-class white people who have been under Tory rule from our early 20's to late 30's. Of course we've done just fine under the Tories .
