The group of contestants were once again escorted from their cells - by now it felt almost as if they were outside them more often than contained - and gathered in the conference room. Only 8 of them remained now, and before they could begin to wonder what on Earth had happened to the celebrity in their midst, the screen flashed up.


Voice: Good evening, contestants. You will notice that the infamous Cassie D has been removed from the game.

An interruption came from Janelle.
"So she gets to walk away scot-free?" she cried incredulously, whilst several others nodded in agreement.

Voice: What has happened to her will become clear at the end of the series. But for now, the time has come for you to have a stab at who your new killer is. Jasmine and Sam have already fallen foul of this culprit and unless you stop them, the death toll can only increase. The standard procedure applies, just take out your ballots and place them into the poll box.

The group did as they were told, but not without dissent.
"Don't we usually get to discuss our decisions?" pondered Joshua, as he ticked his box.
"Who cares? We all know it's Daniela," Daniel coldly announced as he flashed her a piercing glare.
"That makes no sense and you know it - you're probably just killing me because I won't put out. Putain," she spat in retort.
"Yeah, plus our clues so far have been that one of the first ones applies here - surely that's the letter J. So it must be Janelle or Joshua, right?" Martha deduced, ticking her box ()

Once again the group fell into loud argument, throwing accusations manically in an attempt to save their own skins. All of them except Rae, who seemed to be impervious to their accusations and unwilling to voice his own, were up in arms. The voice boomed for silence, as Zak dropped in his ballot.

Voice: So then. You think it's Janelle.

The group whooped and pointed out that, since she had refused to vote, and her name begun with J, she must be it. Before they could finish celebrating, however, two burly men entered and grabbed hold of her. She struggled and screamed,

"I'm not the killer! You're making a huge mistake!" she protested, as they escorted her out of the room. The remaining contestants were then routinely taken back to their own cells.
