I'm not sure it will, unless you watch Big Brother you wouldn't know it was an eviction tonight. The only thing which I think will help it will be that it's on at 9pm instead of 10pm, that might make it do a bit better.

I would prefer it on at 9pm, it is for eviction nights so I think that would be a good move definately for the main BB.

Surely BB allways starting 5 minutes late causes the ratings in the time slot drop?

For a well advertised live event last nights ratings are not grear at all.i feel that the ratings that c5 are getting for CBB are the ratings they wanted for BB12.
Jeff Ford has said that 2.5 million were good not excellent ratings and that was for normal BB

Its actually 2.3

Celebrity Big Brother averaged 2.36m (9.8%) for Channel 5 in the 9pm hour, as David Hasselhoff's ex-wife was voted out of the house instead of fellow nominee Darryn Lyons. Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side was seen by 344k (1.9%) on 5* from 10pm.

Channel 5 beaten by Channel 4 for the 3rd day in a row

Overall, BBC One stole primetime with 18% against ITV1's 16.6% (+1: 0.7%). Channel 4 came next with 7.3% (+1: 1.2%), followed by BBC Two with 6.6% and Channel 5 with 5.6%.

I think so.

They're good ratings for Channel 5, but they're not very good ratings for Celebrity Big Brother. I mean, least years averged at 3.7m and this one seems to be averaging at 2.3m or something. We should probably admit that it's failing a little bit now, because normal Big Brother always gets less so BB12 will probably end up averaging at something like 1.6m.

Its fair to say this series is not doing great.

I used to live BB but now its just a tv show to me.

Was hoping they would average 2.5 atleast.

We do actually need live feed to connect with the housemates.

The first sensible thing you have said for ages
Im joking danny but its right the no live feed debacle has killed all the online chatter its like they dont want the forums or the fansites to have an opinion they have cut us off.
jeff ford said if things werent working then they might be forced to reconsider now that makes me torn i love big brother but its pathetic at the moment can i bring myself to hope viewing figures drop? not yet i cant but im heading that way fast!

When/where did J Ford say if things dont work out they might reconsider. The only line i know of is where he says about moving on from watching housemates sleeping.C5 simply dont want us to watch the show other than the main one and spin offs.
C5 have screwed up big time but will they admit it

86000 households may have brought live feed last year not individuals.
Even those who choose not to watch live feed are now admitting there is nothing to talk about. They would have got info from live feed viewers and that would in turn create a buzz and talk at school/college/work etc
The editing from what i have seen is not up to scratch either from C4 standards and the content is so poor that even the main show is leaving very little to talk about
C5 have ignored what is the main priciple of the show to be availabe to watch 24/7 even if you choose not to do so.
facebook and twitter are a farce with their constant deleting and blocking anyone who is not in the Happy House.
Evictions are turning into a non event as even the casual viewer would want to see the events in the house for an hour or two

yes there is an audience for the show but C5 have missed out big time here live feed would have been a big part of the show to Jedward fans and im sure there seemed more who wanted to view this time round compared to last year, seeing as it was new and on a different channel

People in schools and workplaces can still talk about what happened in the highlights show, it's the online forums that are affected most by the lack of live feed. Don't get be wrong, i'm not saying that having no live feed is fine and no one cares about it because I know that's wrong and many people DO care about it, i'm just saying that I can't imagine the majority of the audience would stop watching for that reason alone. Just looking through BB5-BB9, they all had live feed and yet the ratings were still dropping series by series, it's no surprise that it's got to the low 2m point that it's at now because it was always going to end up here. People don't care about the show anymore.

Jedward fans are still watching the show though even though there's no live feed, and 86,000 people or 86,000 households, doesn't really matter. At the most i'd say that number would affect a total of 100,000 people at most which, if all of BB11's audience watched this series, should have meant there would only be a drop of 100,000 viewers so this series would have got an average of 2.6.

I think for BB12 they should really bring back live feed on either 5* or the website just to satisfy those who want it and see if it does really bring back a mahoosive amount of people like some claim it will do. I can't imagine it would but even if it can add an extra 25,000 people that's still something. I genuinely do think it would be hard for them to reach the point of around 3m people per night these days though, even if they had unlimited free live feed, amazing editing and amazing housemates. The public just doesn't care anymore to watch them for weeks on end every night.

Erm.....

Thats alot of people.

Defo helps spread the word socially hence bringing in ratings for the show.

I'm sure it does get people watching it. I'm sure it does make people talk about the show. All i'm saying is, to those who don't like/watch the show, does hearing "last night Mario had to pretend to be a mole!" really make them want to watch the show? Would that make hundreds of thousands of people flock to their tv's at 10pm just because they were told that? I know I don't rush home to watch TOWIE just because I hear people talking about all the crazy stuff good old Mark and Amy did in the previous show.

Clearly we both don't have the same opinions so i'm just going to stop posting here now because this will just be an endless 'i think this', 'i think this' conversation which doesn't reach any conclusion. I understand where you are coming from, I just personally don't believe that live feed is the reason the ratings are dropping.
