But it's not really a competition of who contributes to the forum the most, it's a platform for people to reward those who they have had the pleasure of knowing. That's how I see it anyway. Anybody winning would be a positive thing.

I disagree it should be to encourage people to use the forum and contribute more than just mates voting for each other

also I would permaban 4 members with the least votes to give the whole thing some jeopardy

Don't you have some other annual best of tibb or sumtin' for that? best thread, best contributor etc. I've seen it when I was lurking before joining.

But you make a good point, LT. People who are lone wolves, not part of a close group, are at disadvantage.

I felt that the response from Admin to recent concerns about the site were at best poor and as such did not have much appetite for a popularity contest celebrating the site

or something along these lines, i cant quite recall what I thought at the time but its sort of like that
