What is it with characters putting stuff in the bin that clearly doesn't fit? Would drive me mad

Edit: Jack saying he had to "dig it out of the bin", it hardly went in!

Sorry but as soon as the policewoman said "We've been given a description that matches you!" To Bernie it was obviously a set up by Evie. Good twist but it was obvious.
