He strikes again:

"Moyes admires Guardiola's work but feels the Spaniard benefited from having a break after leaving Barcelona.

"It's a different situation [for Guardiola]," he said. "I am sure he had done a lot of homework and had a year's preparation before taking the job in Munich. He learnt German, watched the games and learned a lot about the players.

"I do think he took over maybe a little more prepared and ready and, with respect, they were the champions of Europe as well so he had a lot of things in place."
---

It all makes sense now. Moyes couldn't speak English and wasn't managing for 10 years in this country...or took over the English champions. I feel bad for getting on his back now

Sir Alex Ferguson, among David Moyes’s most fervent backers in the Old Trafford boardroom, will play no part in deciding his successor’s future as Manchester United manager.

Hallelujah if true.

Looks like Toni Kroos is staying at Bayern. Never expected Moyes to be used as a bargaining tool. Thought the lure of fighting for a Europa League spot next season would of been what Kroos dreams of.

Every club can have a poor season but it is expected that teams like Man Utd are at least in the running for honours.

He really needs to have one the vbest ever run ins to the end of the season with wins coming easily otherwise there could be more rumblings as to his managerial skills.

However having reached the quarter finals of the European cup and still a likely top 6 finish in the premier league should be enough to ensure he stays.
I myself an not sure if he is the man for the job really but he will, to be fair, need a couple of seasons to make his mark, if he can.

So now Man Utd are out of the Champions league how many years do we think it will be before they are in this completion again?

Next season tbh. New manager, couple mids and a LB and we good to go. The squad was pretty easily a top 3 squad. I'm Not having this media excuse of "overhaul was needed"

Probably only one unfortunately. When you throw anything between £150-200m at a problem, chances are that it will be fixed pretty quickly.

However. If Moyes is still manager then it doesn't matter who we sign we aren't finishing top 4 so the answer would be season after next.

At least Moyes is going to make Glazers spend some of the money the club has made due to his ineptitude. Being outspent by a Liverpool team regularly that hasn't won **** for so long is disgraceful stuff.

Regularly outspent by a Liverpool team?

We've had to scrape around trying to get players to build a team. You've been in a privileged position to add first teamers to a competing squad.

DDG -£20m
Jones - £18m
Smalling - £10m
Carrick - £18m
RVP - £24m
Rooney - £27m
Ferdinand - £30m
Valencia - £16m
Young - £18m
KShinji - £18m
Mata - £37m
Fellaini£28m
Nani - £18m
Anderson - £18m
Zaha - £15m

Yeah - it's clear for everyone that united haven't had any funding.

In the interest of fairness:

Mignolet - £13m
Johnson - £18m
Sakho - £18m
Henderson £16m
Sturridge - £12m
Suarez - £22m

Mata and Fellaini were under Moyes where investment was needed yes.

The facts are there to see. Liverpool has matched or at least been around our region of spending during the Sir Alex years despite you winning close to **** all and United dominating the league. It's just the vast number of players Liverpool did sign came to nothing and were sold on.

When we were the dominant force, it was united who were generally spending more money. It's easier to pick off the players you need from a position of strength, and especially with one manager.

When you have to replace 4/5 players each season trying to get back to the top, then it's a lot harder. You end up chasing your tails. United have cut back over the last few years, but I only ever remember you constantly outspending us. Maybe that's just perspective.

Either way, looking at the prices of the players in your team, I don't think it's fair to claim you've been underfunded.
