It also cost too much in opposition, didn't stop him calling for one, Scotland already has more bank holidays than England, not sure about Wales

Actually Norther Ireland has 10 bank holidays
Scotland has 9 and England and Wales 8 so there is no precedent for parity between the nations for bank holidays

Downing Street are kicking off the celebrations this afternoon so as long as they get some time off jobs a good one

Really? that's not great, they are being hosted at Downing Street tonight so may be on a tight schedule you would have though Downing Street would have waited a day or two they must be exhausted

I thought that, it's ridiculous. They were still doing media nearly 3 hours after the final last night, they fly straight home today and straight off to Downing Street. If I was them I'd like to stay in Switzerland for a couple of days and enjoy some time there without the tournament dominating everything

Starmer is the footie fan would have made more sense for him to host them, and they ended up changing at Southend it all seems very rushed, I am pretty sure its the last thing they wanted to do, they seemed very flat as they got off the Coach at Downing Street

They were still putting the red carpet down while the coach was on route, threw a few St George flags in the windows and a bit of bunting, nothing remotely football related, shambles

and then they have to be on an open top bus tomorrow at 11am, because I dont know why it has to be a Tuesday lunchtime
