Tbf, DTC is partly to blame. He was in the prime position to develop them and utilise them properly following Ronnie's return. But they were either in the background or given material that was very uninspired (Roxy throwing herself at Ronnie's bloke again).

Who knows what SOC may have done had he come to the show and the characters were in better shape.

Rob can say the character was always there however she was never heard in the book because he felt that the character could only be emotionally portrayed through television.
