Every storyline these days seem pointless and too far fetched.

Like in earlier series it was more real and relatable and the stories followed on from eachother. Seems this series and the past couple they just make it up as they go along. I'll wait and see if it improves in the next few weeks.

Libby leaves during this series according to the NOTW, they say that Pauline McGlynn who plays her has struggled with the commute to Manchester and has often rushed into work because she divides her time between Dublin and London and it's affected on her family life

Good episode this week again. Shane & Kelly seem to be the main characters now though. People have been saying it's the Maguire show for years but Frank is literally just an extra in it these days. Apart from the I'm enjoying it this series. It kind of lost it's way last year trying to find it's feet with a new cast but the writing this time around I find much tighter and more cohesive. Their getting on with what they've got.

Now onto the e4 one.

I've only begun watching, I bought Series 4 on DVD and have been watching that and love it.

But I heard alot of the cast have left like Debbie, Lip and Big Paddy Maguire.

Has it really gone downhill? I mean were the old series better?
After I finish S4 would you advise me to go and watch Series 1 onwards? Or go onto Series 5 and make my way up to S8?


Which 'era' was better?

Yep, many have left and even earlier on people like Fiona, Sheila, Kev and Veronica have left the cast..

I would say it's gone downhill but only slightly, the first 2 or 3 series are my favourites but i still love all of them. I think it depends what characters you like aswell and how much involvement they have in each series.

I'd say once you've finished series 4 you start at series 1 and just work your way through them all, i know that'll take quite a while but i've saw all the episodes last summer but i got the series 1-7 boxset or my Christmas and i quickly worked my way through every episode to remind myself of what had been happening before series 8 started.

I think if you watch every episode though you'll enjoy series 8 more when you get round to watching it.
