If we are speaking candidly about tibb in general regarding showing respect and such. I would say for me personally it was older members and some longstanding members that have been the most confrontational.
It's not always a bad thing and can in most cases lead to a better understanding, there is a limit to how many chances you give to find that common ground however.

I tend to respect my elders automatically as thats how I was brought up. However if an older person is a twat to me, I no longer respect them regardless of age, and I wouldn't hesitate to call them out on being a twat either.
