There is no scrutiny. . It's accepted that they are literally giving these sums to anyone with no regulation or accountibiliity.

Lasting immunity doubt as two more cases of Covid reinfection confirmed...

Two European patients are confirmed to have been re-infected with the coronavirus, raising questions over how long immunity to the virus lasts.

The cases, in Belgium and the Netherlands, come a day after researchers in Hong Kong revealed that a 33-year-old man was re-infected with a different strain of the virus four and a half months after being declared recovered - the first such re-infection to be determined through genetic sequencing.

The cases have fuelled fears about the effectiveness of potential vaccines against the virus, as it would appear that immunity only lasts a short period of time. However, experts have warned against reading too much into isolated cases - in a pandemic that has infected more than 23 million people.

it basically means that we will need vaccinations in the same way that we need them for flu now, betting on the most common strain

How many u turns have the government done this year?! Pretty much every decision?

Either schools are safe or they or not. If we are being told schools are safe them why do they need face masks?

....I don’t know if it would be every 3 months or how frequently etc...but it really is going to be a step by step process, I think....every 3 months would be an amazing starting point, for instance, if it gave a much needed immune time...then science could progress to longer lasting immunities in time...?...I mean, it’s just so new and so devastating that we can’t expect to ‘control it’ long term as quickly as we would like to...this is our world now and science is doing a great job, I think...with the steps it’s taking...

It’s a huge experiment ... that’s why we’re hearing the phrase ‘guinea kids‘ banded around .

Wearing a face covering or face mask in schools or other education settings is not recommended. Face coverings may be beneficial for short periods indoors where there is a risk of close social contact with people you do not usually meet and where social distancing and other measures cannot be maintained, for example on public transport or in some shops. This does not apply to schools or other education settings. Schools and other education or childcare settings should therefore not require staff, children and learners to wear face coverings. Changing habits, cleaning and hygiene are effective measures in controlling the spread of the virus. Face coverings (or any form of medical mask unless instructed to be used for specific clinical reasons) should not be worn in any circumstance by those who may not be able to handle them as directed (for example, young children, or those with special educational needs or disabilities) as it may inadvertently increase the risk of transmission
Literally what the gov.uk website says at the moment as it hasnt been updated

they update their advice after listening to what the experts are telling them .... it would be much worse if they stuck to what the original advice was. Changing course to save lives shouldn't under any circumstances be described as a u turn

And yet u turn is what the news is calling it

If they are listening to the experts, why did the experts tell them masks arent recommended in schools or places of education. That students and staff wouldnt be required to wear them. And that masks could increase the risk of transmission in the first place and why have these 'experts' changed their mind

Noone is an expert! How can they be called an expert. Yes they may have some degree that says they are or done some research about it. But the world hasnt gone through this or lived through this pandemic before. So how can they be called an expert???

They are all just making it up as it goes along

We are all screwed and everyone may aswell just get on with their lives as everything put in place seems to get reversed anyways

Today I'm going to the cinema for the first time since they closed.
I'm so excited! Going to wear my mask, the medical ones I find they're quite comfortable.

[Coronavirus: Theatre and pub reopening
in Northern Ireland delayed
Indoor pubs that do not serve food have also been
told they cannot reopen next week either.
They had initially been given a date of 10 August to reopen,
but this was pushed back to 1 September at
the earliest several weeks ago.]

From Ch4HDnews

Cocky Conservative MP Sir Desmond Swayne
said he does not like kids going to school looking
like Darth Vader?

Then the General Secretary, National Teachers Union Kevin Courtney
said he wants kids back in school.
Having a mask on is fine.
