E4's first look showing of Hollyoaks pulled in nearly 750k on Monday night with the aftermath of Mercedes and Riley's nuptials.

The Channel 4 soap was seen by 748k (3.4%) on E4 from 7pm, around 300k more than usual for 'first look' episodes on the channel. A further 107k (0.4%) tuned in on +1.

Earlier, Mercedes' confession at the altar that she'd slept with Riley's dad Carl was seen by 1.33m (6.4%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm, and 101k (0.4%) an hour later.

Good ratings for C4.

Silas victums all seem to be more on screen before he kills them, e.g India and Rae, so Texas seems to be in it alot next week and the week after, so im guessing she dies. Also from the pictures, people have noticed Texas is sent the King chess peice, so does that mean shes the main target?

I really can't see that happening. If that was the case it would ruin the whole story for me. Lynsey has had it so hard ever since she heard his voice in the Costello home and realised he was the killer. No one has believed her (OK Brendon) and the one thing I am really looking forward to is seeing the likes of Cheryl bowing at Lynsey's knees for never trusting her best mate.

They can't kill her, she needs to come out on top.

omg, I was gonna post about the chess pieces, it's already on here, lol. Sounds like we are in for a nail biting few epsiodes, Got Inside Soap magazine today, and Silas is really going to up the ante with Lynsey I see, putting all the responsibility on her for whether Mercy, who he has locked up, lives or dies.

In the magazine, there is a picture of Mercy tied up and Silas is next to her, she isn't blindfolded so obviously knows it's him. This must be the conclusion of the storyline I think, haven't heard anything about Jenny Metcalfe leaving?

I really can't wait to see Silas caught and justice served, but that means it will all be over and this is one of my all time favourite stories on Hollyoaks.

Coronation Street star Graeme Hawley has revealed that he would like to land a Hollyoaks role in order to bag a full set of UK soap appearances.

The actor, who is best known for his role as Weatherfield's John Stape, previously played police officer Martin Crowe on Emmerdale and has also had parts in EastEnders and Doctors.

Hawley told PA: "It would be quite good to get the whole set. I was in EastEnders when I was nine years old, and I rode a bike across the Square and stood in a telephone box.

"So I have, technically speaking, done Coronation Street, Emmerdale and EastEnders. And I've been in Doctors, so it's just Hollyoaks and it's in the bag!"

John Stape is back on screen in Coronation Street next week as he returns to Weatherfield in time for his wife Fiz's murder trial.

The hapless villain is determined to make sure that Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) is not sentenced for his crimes and ends up kidnapping Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) to testify in court on his behalf.

Coronation Street airs Fiz's trial episodes all next week on ITV1.

E4's first look episode of Hollyoaks once more performed well, pulling in 701k (3.4%) from 7pm. The soap's main showing on Channel 4 attracted 1.18m (5.9%) from 6.30pm and 120k (0.5%) on +1.

It would certainly be great for Jennifer Metcalfe to be given a chance to have a different storyline again which doesn't involve men or affairs because she's a good actress..

Alice Barlow kept tweeting that she was filming still at the point when most people had worked out that Rae was getting Silas'ed to keep up the suspence of the storyline..
