I've still not taken my lessons. I got a provisional 4 years ago, then couldn't afford lessons and still haven't got around to it.

I knew I'd just done it by I didn't say a word and kept driving straight, I was so nervous, the tester just said, you can turn back around at the next garage

...my OH's advice was similar to your instructors..he said if you think you've messed up, just keep your cool and keep going because that's often when you can just start to do everything wrong...

I was the exact opposite. I was so nervous on my first right hand turn on my test I over steered (which I had never done before), thought well that's a fail then and relaxed. Got one other minor fault and was gobsmacked it was such a doddle but I think if I hadn't made a big mistake I would have been so nervous I would have made a million others

Yeah, it was actually great advice, he told me a story about one of his other instructees (?) and all who is a brilliant driver and he made one mistake and he gave up and ended up failing, the tester told him after he wouldn't have failed for that one mistake he made but it was because he stopped trying after it. He was like my councilor as well as my instructor

..I just went all to heck on my first test and crashed at a roundabout and the test was stopped..(obviously..)..then I completely lost my confidence in driving and it was around 10 years before I started to drive again but the instructor was so amazing, I passed first time then ..I didn't think I had passed though because I did do a few things wrong...

I passed first time as well. The day before my test my mum kindly pointed out that everyone in the family had passed first time so if I didn't I would be the only one who had to redo the test.

..I wouldn't let the boys drive home after their test because of the adrenalin etc and some people can have accidents straight after passing because they're on such a high and their concentration isn't there...I drove them home and they waited around an hour before driving off to their friend's houses to tell them that they passed/bad mother...

..yeah, I guess like everything, everyone is different but driving tests are so terrifying..I think it's the examiner because they don't seem to haver any emotions at all.....

..yeah, I do actually think it's a good thing not to drive home afterwards, I drove both of the boys to the centre and waited for them but they did drive off to see their friends after an hour or so...I think they spent £9708697 on petrol the first few days just visiting everyone...

If you take a test in your instructors car you are not insured once you've passed that's why they have to drive you back...

I just want some nice cereal but she keeps buying lots of bread. Also she bought like 200grams of minced beef and no other meat for the whole week! I just want to eat healthily and it's entirely possible with low income but she makes it impossible, I have told her many times already. I was able to buy a bit of food to last for the past two days and I had two lovely dinners, beef chow mein and a beef stir fry with rice, but all of the stuff I bought is used up now.

...would your mum not let you do the shopping Jess and you could buy the more healthy stuff and then it would be less for her to do as well..?..

During my test I bumped up the kerb reversing round the corner and I stalled in the middle of a junction. But the examiner told me I reminded him of a girl he was one in love with and passed me. Highly unprofessional for him, but great for me!
