…I’m so very sorry…14 years was a grand age for her and she obviously lived her days in great health so had a very happy life …

My daughter is thankfully too young to understand what was happening when we lost our girl in Oct, but that was the beginning of her love of dogs. Only 11 years and we're still devastated. She would've lived several years longer but developed a very rapid growing cancer. She was living very well before that and there weren't many signs until the last week or so. It's a blessing because we avoided putting her through medical which would've been hell (for her). But yeah, it had to happen pretty much immediately once we got to the vet to say Good bye. Wish we could've at least had gotten her home at least and called for someone.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. A lot of loved ones around me have lost people and pets of recent. Just seems to be that kind of time.

Pips had a tumour in her chest, she was on medication the last 8 months and she was flying then yesterday she just went downhill so fast. I suppose we were lucky we got the last 8 months really

…and I know the huge sadness you’ll feel in losing her but it’s a nice thought that she got to spend this last weekend with you both in Kerry…in the place that has come to be so meaningful in your own life with the cottage and come to be so meaningful to her also…?…maybe somewhat of a small comforting thought…

aw just seen she was a Westie cross, we had a westie cross as well and he was absolutely fine and then in a matter of weeks he went downhill and then he decided to really up the ante when we were in Spain and because Mr Cs family were there I had to come home to do the honours as I couldn't let my son be on his own when he was put to sleep, demanding diva to the end x

Aw I think i remember that Cherie, it's awful isn't it? She was a westie/Pom cross but she didn't look like either of them. the pic is gone from that thread but this was it I think
