I'm gonna bow out of this debate now but it's been fun I've enjoyed it.

Good to see it still open after 19 pages too with an almost 50/50 split on the poll aswell.

Oh and Hi Sheriff.

It's just people trying to make up stuff like if you donate you don't get banned they are only saying that so they want to try and stop it to be added

It's just stupid

On what other forum does divides occur from donators getting a few perks, it's just ridiculous to even assume so. I've said again and again countless forums have these donator options and in no way it brings up any type of divide, so for some to suggest this is such a big reach.

I've not read through the whole thread so don't know what else has been suggested, but my view is that it's fine so long as the benefits of being a "VIP" aren't excessive. A separate private forum could potentially cause divisions and I think that since the main forum can already be a little slow during off season, to give people the opportunity to post even less on the main forum would not be good. However, basic benefits such as a name tag, coloured name, award etc is fine. I fail to understand how that could cause any kind of divisions. If people get worked up over others having a coloured name then that's really silly.

Though I would suggest that we use a different name. Maybe it's just me but I find "VIP" to be really cringey.

Also regarding the issues with bannings/warning etc, members that made a donation wouldn't be treated any differently from someone that hadn't, if someone breaks a forum rule then they get dealt with.. not sure why anyone would think paying a a few pence donation would change that, donations are optional, no one forces people to pay them.
The fact that the site is actively for sale probably acts as a motivating factor to keep it going.

I also wasn't insinuating that you would treat people differently because they were paying members, as I clarified in a later post. My point was, that if you have some of the younger members that pay, but then end up with 6 month bans, then you could have parents on your case and all sorts.

Oh I know, that second part of my post wasn't aimed at you specifically but answering all that had posted those concerns.

Maybe there would be some kind of terms wrote up that would have to be agreed to but like mentioned a few times in the thread everyone is just posting opinions and suggestions atm and nothing is set in stone about a premium feature going ahead.

No one is saying divisions will be created because of a few perks... don't think most people could care any less about coloured names or whatever.

But being titled a 'VIP' and getting a whole 'Private VIP Section' for yourselves is literally dividing the forum. You can't get any more literal in terms of dividing the forum up.

Does Mark even need donators, is it something he wants to implement?

Edit - Nevermind. My question was answered.

Idk why you're flogging that dead horse then because it has been clearly stated there will be no private section nor will it be called VIP

This, it was just an idea and we're getting accused of making drama whilst they're bringing it up again.

Can you imagine having to get past 2 big bouncers each day just to post some half-assed comment about the latest meat pie deal at AsdaWalmart HD?

NO

Seriously though, there are loads of free message boards out there that have all the facilties people want + more, all they have on them is ads which are not intrusive,Couldn't TIBB be swapped over to one of them, most of the things people want like coloured names etc are all there ready there to use, just a suggestion.

Are you actually serious Tom, you kept bringing i up constantly and then start playing the victim when I gave an opposing view to yours. Grow up seriously.

And Reece, I'm not 'flogging a dead horse' at all, private sections kept being brought up and everytime someone said no people just started accusing them of being 'boring' or persisting by saying it wouldn't cause division, even though it clearly would.
