Really good game and probably a fair result. These stupid goals from corners are getting incredibly annoying though. So preventable. Great to see Firmino show his quality again and Can was brilliant, especially in the first half.

Benteke, Mignolet, Lallana, Milner, Bogdan, and Skrtel are all far from good enough to be anywhere near the starting 11. That's not including a few that are out on loan (Balotelli, Wisdom, Alberto), deadwood (Enrique), and players that have put in a few good performances recently but probably should still be moved on (Allen & Toure). Not many teams in the league that can have a list of players that long that should be sold/upgraded.

Ideally next season we'll see

New GK, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Hendo, New CM, Coutinho, New ST, Firmino/New AM. But with Mignolet supposedly getting a new 5 year deal it looks like we're stuck with him.

We don't need a new goalkeeper Ward is more then capable to be #1 we have already signed 2 players who will arrive in the summer we just need a world class cente back and a goal scoring striker

Ward is a 22 year old who has never made an appearance for the club and until this season had never played top flight football anywhere, he is far too inexperienced to be starting league games for a team that want top 4. And centre back is fine, Sakho and Lovren have got a decent partnership going on. It's just their fitness that needs to be worried about.

Ward is highly rated and they will unlikely go for another young goalkeeper so they will either keep minolet or get a aging goalkeeper to steady the ship until he is ready.

The defence is terrible it has let it far to many goals and can't settle on 1 partnership

Our defence has conceded 19 goals in 22 games since Klopp has been in charge, keeping 8 clean sheets in the process. It's fine. Defending set pieces has been terrible, but that is a team problem and not down to the 4 defenders that are playing.

Ward will take Bogdan's spot as our cup keeper and will hopefully develop into a top keeper, but he's not going to be first choice in the league for some time.

When I was defending Moyes on here I was told by Man Utd fans that it was all Moyses' fault and nothing to do with the players and that Van Gaal was definitely the man.
