The bottom of the article they provide a video of his co-stars having to HOLD HIM BACK AND CALM HIM DOWN. Omg at the drama.

Then you click play and it's literally people talking and catching up, hugging and shaking hands after an awards show. Danny walks away and waves to someone off camera. He's clearly livid.

He's clearly just been overworked. They want to make the most out of the (presumably) ridiculous amounts of money that they're paying him and like Marsh said, after appearing in most episodes for a long while, he was probably due a break. And so would anyone.
