It's not going to turn the war around at the end of the day.

I'm increasingly of the opinion that the West knows that eventually Russia will gain from this war (perhaps not all of Ukraine but significant chunks of it) BUT - by the time Russia does settle with what they've got - they want it to have been so drawn out, difficult, uncomfortable & costly that they will think twice before entering another similar conflict.

Basically it needs to be that Russia can save face by saying that they succeeded in their war goals, whilst at the same time, not being able to push any further out without massive risk.

I'd say we're arguably at that point now tbh. The front lines have been basically frozen for like 2 years now but realistically the only side that will gain further is Russia unless there's a dramatic increase in support from the West for Ukraine which is unlikely to come.

SK aren't going to fight NK outside of Korea, would be my assumption. They'll be concerned about Russia supplying NK with weapon advancements (or nuclear assistance) more than anything else.

Alliance with SK is IMO far too important to the US in the Pacific for that to ever be under any sort of realistic threat, Trump or no Trump. The USA is South Korea's closest ally.
