Rumors are swirling that Neve Campbell has refused to reprise her role as "Sidney Prescott" in the next Scream film. Many sites have cited Kevin Williamson's Twitter page to be the source of such news, yet, when I just checked it, the news was gone. We'll see what happens. If the price is right, I think she'll do it.

The evolution of Dewey and Gale's relationship in the Scream franchise has been an interesting one. Can't say I agreed with where it went in the third chapter, but from the sounds of it, writer Kevin Williamson is taking things to the next level for the pair in Scream 4 and the "new trilogy" he's fashioning.

Courteney Cox recently revealed during a press conference that Gale Weathers "has a kid now" and is indeed married to Dewey, essayed again by David Arquette (her real life husband). And, as it has been revealed earlier, Dewey is a sheriff. "I heard the idea for Scream 4, and it's fantastic," the actress said.

The idea of a kid scares the hell out of me. Will it be an infant? Maybe, in that case, I'm not so worried. But, a mischievous ten-year-old? That could spell trouble.

Williamson is at work writing the script while overseeing the CW's The Vampire Diaries. If all goes according to plan, Scream 4 should start rolling cameras next year...that is, if the cast doesn't blow the entire story beforehand thus negating any need to see the film at all.

Im guessing he was seeing sydney at the end of scream 3.... she wasent really in scream 3 that much, it was more gail and dowey (spelt their names wrong i no).... but im still pissed that parker posey was killed of... i love her!

A fourth movie was announced by The Weinstein Company in July 2008. On update, the Arquettes have confirmed they are returning. Jamie Kennedy has stated he will be in the film, despite his character being killed off in the second film. Wes Craven said that he wouldn't mind directing this film, but it would take a very good script to get him back. Craven also went on to say, "It would take it being really as good a script as the first one was, and the pay day reflects what I’ve done for that company." Not only has Williamson the writer of the first two films, and story of the third, been hired to pen a draft for the fourth film, but also a new trilogy. Recently, Craven stated that it isn't very probable that Neve Campbell will return. Therefore, a younger cast is likely to be set. In recent interviews Campbell has been stating herself she is currently in negotiations to star in Scream 4. Hilary Duff is also in negotiations to star in the 4th installment.

I wouldn't trust Wikipedia as far as I could throw it for upcoming film news. I can't see Randy coming back, he looks too different these days and couldn't pull off a teenager. Hillary Duff needs to stay far away, she's film poison.
