Five, which is owned by Europe's biggest television company

You don't think they have the money, the contract is 180m, Is that for 5 years?

They have only ruled out talking about it, Tables could turn.

£60 is quite cheap.[/rquote]It's over a third of Five's programming budget (£165m)

Yeah I think there are companies that could. But they won't........It's had a long controversial run and been assassinated by censorship and viewer indifference.

It's a financial hot potato......Don't expect it back any time soon if ever......

BBC2's ethos;

"BBC Two (BBC2 until 1997) is the second major terrestrial television channel of the BBC, aimed at a wide range of subject matter and interests, and specialising in intelligent yet popular programme genres. Like the BBC's other domestic TV and radio networks, it is commercial-free and yet remains a comparatively well funded public service network, regularly attaining a much higher audience share than most current public service networks worldwide. It was the second British television station to be launched by the BBC (starting in 1964), and Europe's first television channel to broadcast regularly in colour, from 1967, envisaged as a home for less mainstream and more ambitious programming."

[rquote=2549208&tid=146976&author=chris1232]Imagine if ITV bought it!!!!

They would own, I'm a celeb.. X-factor, BB oh my god
[/rquote]

ITV are skint, they can hardly afford the programming they have got, they couldn't afford the cost involved by miles. Their main priority is I'm A Celebrity (which is also in danger) and The X Factor. It's not even worth thinking about. All the tv companies that Endemol had approached have turned it down so next year is almost certainly going to be the last deffo!
