La Roux singer Elly Jackson has blasted Taylor Swift's music as "manufactured princess pop".
The 21-year-old criticised Kanye West for storming the stage during the country singer's acceptance speech at the MTV VMAs last weekend, but also conceded that Swift isn't a worthy winner.
"Kanye West is a jackass, so that's not really pointing out anything that anyone didn't know anyway," she told Radio 1.
"I think you should never go and ruin someone's moment like that, whether you feel they deserve it or not.
"I think most people are in agreement that Taylor Swift's video probably wasn't the best video of the bunch, nor is it the best music in the world. But if it has been voted in, don't have a go at Taylor Swift, have a go at the people who voted for it. Don't ruin her day."
Jackson added: "I do think people should stand up more against rubbish music and people should say, 'No, sorry this isn't that good'. It's not. Taylor Swift's music isn't good, it's manufactured princess pop, we've got enough of it, let's have something else."
La Roux release new single 'I'm Not Your Toy' on September 28.

I can't help but note a recurring trend of La Roux criticizing other young successful pretty female artists. I like both A LOT so can't judge but I don't think its fair for her to brand us all sheep and speak as if we cant 'stand up' for our tastes, clearly a lot of people like her.
