I'm trying to think of ones that bombed commercially or critically that I really loved.

Eh, Starship Troopers anybody? I think it's great fun and a total piss take.

Starship troopers

Amazing Film, the brain bug at the end was pretty lame though he was suppose to be the leader of them all and he is just a massive Blob of ****

I think Changeling never got the recognition it deserved. Angelina Jolie's best acting performance imo.

Another two that I know are pretty silly but can't help liking are The Chronicles of Riddick and the latest Rambo.

Oh, and Serenity is a very underrated sci fi flick.

The film with david bowie in, Still love it now, there was a part where david bowier was dancing around and it looked like he had a sock down his pants

Ah I love those films, I've got PB and Labyrinth on DVD somewhere.

Without sounding like a Broken record I think Studio Ghibli's films are Excellent but underappreciated outside of film fans. I think Sweeney Todd deserved more praise then it got, the same with Corpse Bride (not as good as NBC yes but still good in it's own right).

Here's some others I can think of:

Let the Right One In
Grindhouse
The Fountain
Trick R Treat
Boogie Nights
Across The Universe
Stardust (Similar to Princess Bride but still good in it's own right)
Rock and Rule (more nostalgia based then anything)

For soem reason I can only really think of more modern films, I'm gonna have to attack my DVD collection for some more inspiration.

I'd have to say The Orphanage. It's a hidden gem that's really quite good.

Y Tu Mama Tambien was good, Alfonso Cuaron is an amazing director. He directed the only Harry Potter I liked and Children of Men.
