New Years isin't one I ever caught the social buzz of, and my mates are all into the clubbing/walking around town shitfaced thing which I despise. New Years in front of the telly is far better IMO and I am more of an in kind of guy so the tradition these days is for me to be in on my own doing something really nerdy like looking up old wrestling on YouTube when getting absoloutely shitfucked.

I hate clubbing, partying in general. Thats why i'm trying to get mates to come round mine for takeaway, tv and gaming lol!

One of my Uncle's annual party up north. He goes mental with stuff like this and I think he bought about £500 worth of fireworks last year, knicked a B&Q trolley and strapped them all to it before wheeling it out into the middle of the road and setting it off at midnight. Aside from that I think he spent nearly £1,000 pounds on lazers, snow machines, karaoke machines, DJ decks etc and built a 'club' in his garden under some scaffolding which was covered in those blue covers.

So yeah, should be good again. But it's fancy dress this year and I really don't know what to go as.

I never really saw the appeal in being judged by bouncers, handing over cash, and standing drunk under bright lights dancing like a nutter to tunes you would, under sober circumstances, find ****. No matter how much I lost it on various substances I could never let myself go enough to enjoy clubs. In fact, I find the whole process humiliating.

Why can't we all just gather in a field, drink too much, and set fires like the New Years I remember? Why do we have to pay a tenner to go listen to All The Single Ladies whilst being blinded by both overpriced drink and strobe lights?

Theres no heart in clubbing on New Years. That's not what New Year's is about!
