The reason his life pattern is repeated for many individuals is because they have highly addictive personalities. The only way to resist the addiction to alcohol and/or serious drugs is to transfer the addiction to an alternative. Both addictions involve a particular life style within a circle of a certain type of fellow sufferers and to be controlled by a dealer/priest who supplies the necessary materials. Both life-styles involve strict routines which take up a large part of each day and there is a stong desire to recruit new members into the group.

That's a good way of putting it.

Just because you don't associate with them, doesn't mean that they don't exist. They exist in huge numbers, especially the evangelical nut cases in the South.

We don't go prancing around talking to everyone about it

Hate when people just label us all into one pigeon whole

I don't think they are really though. Well at least I hope not. I'm not religious in the slightest, but I don't mind people being religious at all if they don't go and shove it in people's faces. And Stephen is shoving it in everyone's face.

edit;Oh and also he's mad,I doubt most people think every Christian is like that.

I think if Stephen wasnt mentally ill, he wouldnt bother with Christianity, he just uses it as something to do and believe in keep his mind occupied instead of going back to the drugs and basically ruining his life

Obama is supporting Black Theology (and his pastor Jeremiah Wright), is that right religion?

In fairness to Obama (and Im no fan) but he never promoted or condoned any of that guys teachings - although he stayed attending for many years,
but,
when it was caught out - Obama immediately disavowed ever supporting any of the controversial opinions and made it clear he disagreed with the controversial racist stuff in Pastor Kooks teachings.

Do I believe Obama?
Absolutely yes.
I think he is as 'secular' as it gets and was attending that Church for purely social reasons and probably spent most of the weekly sermons thinking about having a smoke and what influential people were in attendance.

Despite being born and raised a Muslim and later attending Church - I don't think Obama is interested in any theology.
Not 'atheist' but about as close to a 'pure agnostic' as you can ask for.

Exactly. As much disgust as I have for Stephen for what he is doing, he is actually being a pretty damn good Christian. That's why it bugs me when the Diet Christians on the forums say 'that's disgusting and I would never do that'. That's because your not really Christian. You have never properly read it's central, foundational text. You have no idea what you are believing in. You can't have it both ways and mould the religion to suit your own needs. Either brush up on your whacky prophecies or join the rest of us sane people in non-religious land.

No, the trouble stems from peoples interpretation of religion, to attack other people, not the religion itself!

Religion is interpretation though. Created by man, distributed by other men, changed by other men, and then finnaly interpreted by the reader. All it is and ever will be is dictated by human interpretation. Interpretation which destroy's it's own subject of interpretation, considering ideally there should be no room for interpretation as it's meant to be the infallible word of god. Ultimately if The Bible were not there in the first place, people wouldn't even have the chance to interpret it for the worst, so I think it's fair to say that the trouble stems from 'religion' in general.

The thing is if you deny Christ you go straight to hell. Thats a Christian belief.

The thing that Baldwin said about the shooter, that was out of the bible. He just revised it for the other house guest to comprehend what he was saying.

Stephen is just too much! But he is providing tension which in a way is good, I just find it boring hearing him go on and on.

Believe in God's infinite love or be sent to hell to suffer eternal damnation. What a wonderful belief system!
