I agree, but it's a social identification thing I suppose. We all end up cast into groups somehow.

But because of this, we have grouped against other groups, and that's why we have people with certain orientations feeling oppressed.

Yes but it's the same anywhere in the world. Gay's are not welcome in some parts of America or the UK either.

I'd love to Patrick. But I'm sure I know Ireland as being homophobic. That just must be some dumbass stereotype though.

That's another consequence of having groups...the rivalry. It's been very rare in History that groups ganged up against other groups, that's how life goes...unfortunately. World Peace is basically impossible so it makes laugh when I see a pageant winner "I want world peace". Get some History books first young lady.

No they aren't. That's what we call a cultural stereotype. Are the English well known for being tea drinking, country conquering, buck toothed wankers?

It does exist.
It's part of being comfortable with your sexuality. Look, I'm a rugbyman so I've seen naked guys on a weekly basis for about 10 years now but it doesn't bother me. I'm not going to say "right this guys is hot to the bone" but I can say at least a guy isn't ugly.

If you are mentally retarded enough to believe a nation - an inanimate, non sentient 'thing' - can be homophobic, then yeah, sure.

Do you believe everything strangers tell you on the internet or is this a special occurence?

But people who know the general attitude there have said it is homophobic.
