At the Imtermediate Treatment Project I used to volunteer at (teens referred by Social Services for various issies) we'd tell them how to do it properly to spook-out attention seekers/bull****ters. Clench fist, stab a long bladed knife deep into middle of forearm and pull it to the fist - that'll sever the arteries and you'll bleed to death quickly'

Ahhh yeah, like if you slit across two ways it's meant to work better too. I get what you mean, it's a good way of scaring off the bull****ters but could also backfire really, like some of the serious cases might have BPD or something.
