Well I don't want children so I guess that wouldn't matter to me.

Because for a non-smoker - the stink of an old ashtray is very unpleasant! To put up with that 24/7 would be too much! Not to mention any associated health risks - if that person is going to want to be smoking around you!

I deal on occassions with items that have spent many years in the homes of smokers and they have a thick layer of yellow tar on them that is hard to clean off (clocks, paintings). One can only imagine what the lungs looked like if this was smoke that had been inhaled, blown out into a much larger area and then settled on a surface.

Smokers live in a fantasy world

I'm a smoker so it wouldn't bother me to marry a girl who smokes. Not in front of the children tho because that is disgusting. If we have children, we'd smoke outside, just like I do at home. I'm a "nice" smoker, not a selfish one.

Top class - I tried never to smoke in other people's company even in my own house - now I'm trying to stop completely

Only my dad and I are smokers so we smoke outside not to annoy my mum and sister (yet she smokes but my parents don't know that). I don't smoke around my nephew and my niece. I can't, it doesn't feel right.

If you love someone why would you stop loving them for something so trivial when compared to actual love?

A : Because the question aims to discredit smokers as being unmarriable beings.

Don't worry, if you don't like smokers I doubt your going to go all the way and start questioning it the day of the marriage. So in that respect the question is a bit ...

... yeah. You get the idea.
